Oh Senhor, Tu me conhecesOh Lord you have know me
Quando me levanto e quando me sentoWhen I rise and when I sit down
Conheces cada pensamento de longeYou know every though from a far
E onde quer que eu vá, lá estás TuAnd wherever I go there You are

Oh, onde eu poderia fugir do Teu espíritoOh where could I go from your spirit
Ou onde posso me esconderOr where can I flee
Tua presença está perto, eu sei que estás aqui,Your presence is near, I know You are here,
Eu sei que estás comigoI know You're with me

Sonda-me, ó Deus, e conhece meu coração,Search me, oh God, and know my heart,
Prova-me e conhece meus pensamentos ansiosos,Try me and know my anxious thoughts,
E vê se há algum caminho doloroso em mim.And see if there be any hurtful way in me.
E guia-me pelo caminho eterno.And lead me in the ever lasting way.

Se eu tomar as asas da alvorada,If I take the wings of the dawn,
Se eu habitar na parte mais profunda do marIf I dwell in the deepest part of the sea
Mesmo lá, Tu me guiarásEven there You will lead me
Lá, Tu me segurarás perto de Ti.There You will hold me close to Thee.

E quando eu acordar, descubro que ainda estou em Tuas mãosAnd when I awake I find I am still in Your hand
E se eu contar os Teus pensamentos a meu respeitoAnd if I should count Your thoughts toward me
Eles superariam a areia.They'd out number the sand.

Sonda-me, ó Deus, e conhece meu coração,Search me, oh God, and know my heart,
Prova-me e conhece meus pensamentos ansiosos,Try me and know my anxious thoughts,
E vê se há algum caminho doloroso em mim.And see if there be any hurtful way in me.
E guia-me pelo caminho eterno.And lead me in the ever lasting way.

Eu Te agradecerei, pois sou maravilhosamenteI will give thanks to Thee for I am fearfully
E assombrosamente feito.And wonderfully made.
Maravilhosas são Tuas obras eWonderful are Thy works and
Minha alma sabe disso muito bem.My soul knows it very well.

Fora de Ti, não há nada que eu possa fazerApart from You there's nothing that I can do
Pois Tu és a fonte e doador da vida,For You are the source and giver of life,
Isso eu sei que é verdade.This I know is true.
Cria em mim um coração puro para que eu possa estarCreate in me a clean heart so that I can be
Disposto a ceder e capaz de ouvirWilling to yield and able to hear
Sempre que Tu falaresWhenever You speak
