Meu Chevrolet

Phil Vassar

My Chevrolet

I had a 327 and a 4 on the floor
It was Detroit built back in '64
Red bucket seats she was mine, all mine
Yeah, was one of a kind
Kevin called "shot gun" and the boys piled in
We were young and we were innocent, we were guilty as sin
And every Friday night, we'd make our getaway
In my Chevrolet

Big, yellow moon on a country road
And "Night Moves" on the stereo
The windows down and the smell of fresh cut hay, hey, hey
If that Chevy could talk, the stories she'd tell
About broken hearts and love and raising hell
Yeah, it was summertime
Man those were the days
in my Chevrolet

Now, Jenni was an angel, she was my first love
Steaming up the windows and getting all tangled up
Stumbling around in the darkness and trying to find our way, hey, hey
At the drive-in movies, parked way up in the back
I couldn't tell you what was playin, I didn't care nothing about that
But after the sho, we'd hit the road and park down by the lake
In my Chevrolet

Big, yellow moon on a country road
And "Night Moves" on the stereo
The windows down and the smell of fresh cut hay, hey, hey
If that Chevy could talk, the stories she'd tell
About broken hearts and love and raising hell
Yeah, it was summertime
Man those were the days
in my Chevrolet

May 28th, graduation day
We set out to see the U.S.A
We got as far as Smith Mountain Lake
Yeah, but that's okay
In my Chevrolet
In my Chevrolet
We were rolling away
In my Chevrolet
Those were the days, yeah
In my Chevrolet
Whoa, yeah
We were rolling away

Meu Chevrolet

Eu tinha um 327 e um câmbio de quatro marchas
Era de Detroit, feito em 64
Bancos vermelhos, ela era minha, toda minha
É, era única
Kevin gritou "carona" e a galera entrou
Éramos jovens e inocentes, mas culpados que nem o pecado
E toda sexta à noite, a gente fazia nossa fuga
No meu Chevrolet

Grande lua amarela numa estrada rural
E "Night Moves" no som
As janelas abertas e o cheiro de feno cortado, hey, hey
Se aquele Chevy pudesse falar, as histórias que contaria
Sobre corações partidos, amor e bagunça
É, era verão
Cara, aqueles eram os dias
No meu Chevrolet

Agora, Jenni era um anjo, foi meu primeiro amor
Embaçando os vidros e nos enrolando todo
Tateando na escuridão, tentando achar nosso caminho, hey, hey
No cinema drive-in, estacionados lá atrás
Não consigo te dizer o que estava passando, não ligava pra isso
Mas depois do filme, a gente pegava a estrada e parava perto do lago
No meu Chevrolet

Grande lua amarela numa estrada rural
E "Night Moves" no som
As janelas abertas e o cheiro de feno cortado, hey, hey
Se aquele Chevy pudesse falar, as histórias que contaria
Sobre corações partidos, amor e bagunça
É, era verão
Cara, aqueles eram os dias
No meu Chevrolet

28 de maio, dia da formatura
Saímos pra ver os EUA
Chegamos até o Lago Smith Mountain
É, mas tá tranquilo
No meu Chevrolet
No meu Chevrolet
A gente estava rodando
No meu Chevrolet
Aqueles eram os dias, é
No meu Chevrolet
Uou, é
A gente estava rodando
