quando seu pai morreu, ninguém o respeitou-when his father died no-one respected him-
ele sabia disso, todos desprezavam as ações de seu pai,he knew this, they all despised his father's deeds,
comprando crianças- para seu próprio uso, escravidão- e abuso pago,buying children- for his own use, slavery- and paid abuse,
crianças que ele contratava- para sexo ou trabalho, as comprava- dos pobres.children he hired- for sex or toil, purchased them- from the poor.
Ele parou o negócio, com seu pai morto,He stopped the business, with his father dead,
ninguém podia perdoá-lo, só odiá-lo em vez disso,no-one could forgive him, just hate him instead,

procurando o castelo- do poderoso mago,seeking the castle- of the almighty wizard
disposto a pagar- qualquer preço.willing to pay- whatever the cost.
Ele vê algo- entre as árvores da floresta,He sees something- amongst the trees in the forest
um enorme castelo- com três torres escuras,a huge castle- with three darkened towers,
correndo para os portões- estava ansioso para entrar- de repente sente-runs to the gates- he's eager to enter- suddenly feels-
se muito vivo, as portas se abrem- (uma) voz o chama para dentro,very alive, the doors open- (a) voice calls him inside,
lâmpadas levam o homem- a uma escadaria de mármore,lamps lead the man- to a marble staircase,
parece o caminho certo- então ele sobe,seems the right way- so ascend he does,
há uma porta- ele entra em um quarto.there is a doorway- he enters a room.
O mago- está lá- com algo em suas mãos,The-wizard-stands-there-with-something-in-his-hands,
é uma máscara feita de prata.it's a mask made of silver.
"Eu-sei-o-que-você-quer"- ele diz- "Eu o observei- quando-"I-know-what-you-want"-he-says-"I've watched-you-when-
eu estava sonhando.I have been dreaming.

O homem ficou surpreso enquanto ouvia o mago-The man stood surprised as he listened to the wizard-
ele deu a ele dez moedas de ouro em troca,he gave him ten pieces of gold in return,
correndo para a cidade- com a máscara na mão,he ran to the city- with the mask in hand,
ele deixou a floresta- em direção à terra familiar,he left the forest- into familiar land,
ele não podia esperar para experimentar- colocou-a assim que chegou lá,he couldn't wait to try it- put it on as soon as he was there,
uma antecipação ardente- por tanto tempo ele esperou,burning anticipation- for so long he waited,
ele entrou- nas ruas de sua cidade,he entered- the roads of his town,
colocou- a máscara- olhou ao redor animadamente,put on- the mask- excitedly looked around,
parecia- estranho uma vez- que estava em seu rosto,it felt- strange once- it was on his face,
como se- uma transição estivesse acontecendo,as if- a transition was taking place,
depois em- um instante- algo havia mudado,then in- an instant- something had changed,
pessoas- passando- não o tratavam da mesma forma,people- passing by- were not treating him the same,
alguns estavam- até- se ajoelhando,some were- even- falling to their knees,
como se- ele fosse- algum tipo de ser superior.as if- he were- some kind of higher being.
De repente ele percebeu, havia algo errado,Suddenly he realised, there was something wrong,
ele então desejou, tirar a máscara,he then desired, to take off the mask,
mas então, para seu horror, ela grudou em seu rosto,but then to his horror, it stuck to the face,
hoje era sua nova pele, ele nunca poderia mudar.now it was his new skin, he could never change.
Então ele soube, que o mago o enganou, ele havia trocado,Then he knew, that the wizard had tricked him, he had traded,
o ódio pelo medo, agora ele pagaria, por seus desejos egoístas,hatred for fear, now he would pay, for his selfish biddings,
tudo o que ele queria, era que as pessoas se importassem.all he wanted, was people to care.
Ele teria trocado todas as suas riquezas só para ser querido.He would have traded all his riches just to be liked.
Agora ele será ignorado e temido pelo resto de sua vida.Now he will be ignored and feared for the rest of his life.
