Assim vem um povo numeroso e poderosoSo there comes a people numerous and mighty
Um fogo devora diante deles, e atrás deles uma chama queimaA fire devours before them, and behind them a flame burns
Ninguém escapou das devastações das hordas devoradorasNo one has escaped the ravages of the devouring hordes

A aparência deles é como a de cavalos; e como cavaleiros, assim correrãoThe appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run
Como o barulho de carros no topo das montanhas saltarãoLike the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap
Como o barulho de uma chama de fogo que devora a palha, como um povo forte em formação de batalhaLike the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array

Diante deles, o povo ficará muito angustiado: Todos os rostos se tornarão sombriosBefore their face the people shall be much pained: All faces shall gather blackness
Eles correrão como homens poderosos; escalarão o muro como guerreirosThey shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war
E marcharão cada um em seu caminho, e não quebrarão suas fileirasAnd they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks
Nem um empurrará o outro; cada um andará em seu caminhoNeither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path
E quando caírem sobre a espada, não serão feridosAnd when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded

Eles correrão de um lado para o outro na cidade; correrão sobre o muroThey shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall
Escalarão as casas; entrarão pelas janelas como um ladrãoThey shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief

A terra tremerá diante deles; os céus tremerãoThe earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble
O Sol e a Lua se escurecerão, e as estrelas retirarão seu brilhoThe Sun and the Moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining

E o Senhor levantará sua voz diante de seu exército: Pois seu acampamento é muito grandeAnd the Lord shall utter his voice before his army: For his camp is very great
Pois é forte quem executa sua palavraFor he is strong that executeth his word
Pois o dia do Senhor é grande e muito terrível; e quem pode suportá-lo?For the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?
