Epiphany

What just came over me
I haven't felt in awhile
Years I've been living
Was only existing
So show me the world like a child

Some new epiphany
Laid down its roots in my mind
Life's an illusion
So I'll keep refusing to bury myself in it's lies

But sometimes the sky looks so beautiful
And I'll cry and just try to hold it all

Changed my course and now I'm pretending
We were never ever descending

Realization came and hit me that
Maybe you could really miss me
If I'm not around, round

So call off the guards
And turn fear to love
If you can, please

Finally taking a gulp full of air so I'm fine
Oxygen reaches the places it's needed
Reluctantly staying alive

I want love but not only from myself
I gave all my tender to someone else

Changed my course and now I'm pretending

Realization came and hit me that

I've gotten really good at faking
I calculate the risk I'm taking
The walls keep me safe and sound
Years and years of preservation
Have made it so intimidating
