On the stairs

About the same old situation

Rise up in the morning, first thing I see
People killing people on my TV screen
It's hard to believe how we live these days
Chasing one another like rats in the race
Hectic in the city, they move so fast
Focus on the future, living in the past
Cant keep up the pace, feeling out of space
Finger on the trigger, just in case

Sometimes I feel like screaming (in my head)
Sometimes I feel like dreaming (about peace)
Sometimes I feel like breaking down
When all I want is safe and sound
