Ascent
Slowly it etches, jagged cracks appear
The face of a lion, the sum of my fears
As i walk it grows, steadily erupting
Glacier teeth from its mouth
Spawning clouds make up its mane
From all the hate i try to redirect
From all the pain i don't let affect
My stone face, its like the mountain is me
Solid to the eye, but melting underneath
Callous and numb, i make my ascent
Up this volcanic slope i try to pretend
That i'm just indifferent
Meanwhile the rage is overflowing
Climbing higher to reach the summit
Striving harder to overcome it
The misery that dwells in me
Wrath flowing through every vein
I feel the knot begin to tie
Internal pressure starts to rise
Fangs of temper bite my chest
With crushing jaws they overwhelm
The lava, the angst, the eruption
My uphill battle ensues
I push the boulder just to watch it roll
Amongst the smoldering flames below
Cursed by my own despair
I try to leave it and trudge on
Climbing higher to reach the summit

Lentamente se grava, fissuras irregulares aparecem
A face de um leão, a soma dos meus medos
Enquanto ando, cresce, erupcionando
Dentes de glaciar saindo da sua boca
Nuvens formam sua juba
De todo o ódio que tento redirecionar
De toda a dor que não deixo me afetar
Meu rosto de pedra, é como se a montanha fosse eu
Sólido aos olhos, mas derretendo por baixo
Insensível e sem emoção, faço minha ascensão
Subindo essa ladeira vulcânica, tento fingir
Que sou apenas indiferente
Enquanto a raiva transborda
Subindo mais alto para alcançar o cume
Esforçando-me mais para superá-la
A miséria que habita em mim
Ira fluindo por cada veia
Sinto o nó começar a se apertar
A pressão interna começa a subir
Presas de temperamento mordem meu peito
Com mandíbulas esmagadoras, eles me dominam
A lava, a angústia, a erupção
Minha batalha íngreme continua
Empurro a pedra só para vê-la rolar
Entre as chamas fumegantes abaixo
Maldito pela minha própria desgraça
Tento deixá-la e sigo em frente
Subindo mais alto para alcançar o cume
Esforçando-me mais para superá-la
