A rusting and loud noise

Ii era noite e a chuva caiu
Ii was night and the rain fell
No chão era sangue
On the ground it was blood
Eu fiquei no pântano
I stood in the morass
A chuva caiu sobre minha cabeça
The rain fell upon my head

Uma lua carmesim surgiu
A crimson Moon arose
Meus olhos caíram sobre uma enorme rocha cinza
My eyes fell upon a huge grey rock

No cume da rocha havia um homem
Upon the summit of the rock there stood a man
Um rei ou uma divindade?
A king or a deity?
Vi tristeza, cansaço, nojo da humanidade e
I saw sorrow, weariness, disgust with mankind and
Desejando a solidão, o homem agora tremia na solidão
A longing after solitude, the man now trembled in the solitude

Eu assisti aquele homem tremendo
I watched that man trembling
Tremendo de noite!
Trembling in the night!

Ao xingar, fiquei com raiva
In cursing I grew angry

He laughs, I can’t. He curses me
Enquanto o linx olha para ele
As the linx stares at him

Passado o pântano, além do deserto
Past the morass, beyond the desert

That man still trembles in the dark
O medo é tudo o que ele merece
Fear is all that he deserves
O silêncio é os monstros libertados da arca
