It's a Very Deep Sea
I'll keep on diving til I reach the ends,
Dredging up the past to drive me round the bendz,
What is it in me that I can't forget
I keep finding so much that I now regret.
But no, on I go down into the depths
Turning things over that are better left
Dredging up the past that has gone for good
Trying to polish up what is rotting wood.
Something inside takes me down again
Diving not for goblets but tin cans
Dredging up the past for reasons so rife
Passing bits of wrecks that once passed for life.
But I'll keep on diving till I drown the sea,
Of things not worth, even mentioning
Perhaps I'll come to the surface and come to my senses
But it's a very deep sea around my own devizes.

É um Mar Muito Profundo
Vou continuar mergulhando até chegar ao fim,
Revirando o passado que me deixa na bad,
O que é que tem em mim que não consigo esquecer
Continuo achando tanto que agora me faz arrepender.
Mas não, sigo em frente, descendo às profundezas
Revirando coisas que é melhor deixar quietas
Tirando do fundo o que já se foi de vez
Tentando dar brilho ao que é madeira podre.
Algo dentro me leva de volta de novo
Mergulhando não por taças, mas por latas de alumínio
Revirando o passado por razões tão comuns
Passando por restos de naufrágios que um dia foram vida.
Mas vou continuar mergulhando até afundar o mar,
De coisas que não valem nem a pena mencionar
Talvez eu venha à tona e recupere o juízo
Mas é um mar muito profundo ao redor das minhas ideias.
