The new strangeness
I was taught the time had come
And a strangeness had begun
And everything that once was here
All at once will disappear
And before the morning breaks
Many voices will be raised
And though no one is certain yet
Everyone is sure to fall instead
Well nobody knows when and how it will come
And wether you win or become undone
You want to be prepared
You've put some money away
And canceled the meeting on thursday
You're ready and willed to lead a different life
But at the moment it seems no direction is right
It is never very easy from one day to the next
You have to be sure that the dog is fed
And somewhere it has already begun
Even where I may go you could still walk in the sun
But then no one knew what it could be
But there were already signs and here and there you could see
It was not only in places that it appeared
There were times of day when it was clear
In the hours after the sun went down
Change had come and it was all around
If the truth be told we can not deny
That what we used to hide from now we welcome inside
And it was understood that best unconsciously
That something's unfold and something's happening
And only just now has it become
Too much to ignore that something has begun
The signs have been clear the time is here
And now a strangeness has appeared
And I lie in bed and I have to admit
I have a strong urge to turn around again
Outside where the night blends with the daylight
See things coming through and it concerns me too
A nova estranheza
Me ensinaram que a hora tinha chegado
E uma estranheza havia começado
E tudo que antes estava aqui
De repente vai sumir
E antes do amanhecer
Muitas vozes vão se erguer
E embora ninguém tenha certeza ainda
Todo mundo vai acabar caindo, na verdade
Bem, ninguém sabe quando e como vai chegar
E se você vai ganhar ou se vai se desmoronar
Você quer estar preparado
Guardou uma grana a mais
E cancelou a reunião de quinta
Você está pronto e disposto a levar uma vida diferente
Mas no momento parece que nenhuma direção é certa
Nunca é muito fácil de um dia para o outro
Você tem que ter certeza de que o cachorro foi alimentado
E em algum lugar já começou
Mesmo onde eu posso ir, você ainda poderia andar ao sol
Mas então ninguém sabia o que poderia ser
Mas já havia sinais e aqui e ali você podia ver
Não era só em lugares que isso aparecia
Havia momentos do dia em que era claro
Nas horas depois que o sol se pôs
A mudança tinha chegado e estava por toda parte
Se a verdade for dita, não podemos negar
Que o que costumávamos esconder agora recebemos por dentro
E foi entendido que melhor inconscientemente
Que algo está se desenrolando e algo está acontecendo
E só agora se tornou
Demais para ignorar que algo começou
Os sinais foram claros, a hora é essa
E agora uma estranheza apareceu
E eu deito na cama e tenho que admitir
Sinto uma forte vontade de me virar de novo
Lá fora, onde a noite se mistura com o dia
Vejo coisas surgindo e isso também me preocupa
