Throughout history, men and women had given their lives
For the causes they found to be
The most honoured ones

Thrown to lions, being tortured severed in their souls
Never giving up on what they perceived to be truth
Peace, but in war
Love, but being hated

Stoned, sawn in two, tempted, slain by swords
Wandering in sheepskins, afflicted, tormented
Through their works now we’re free to choose what we’ll learn
Truly living, there is no need for empty answers
The world was not worth of such men

In suffering they’d spent their lives no fear and no regret
Unknown to many who now live
They now will be remembered
