Animals And The Weather
It seems hotter here today,
so much hotter than yesterday.
I think it's hotter than the day before.
So much hotter than tomorrow.
I'll just fill up space
making obvious statements on the weather.
I'm hotter than a turkey in the oven,
hotter than a bat being boiled by a coven,
hotter than a fish in the summer sand,
hotter than a cat on fire.
I'll just fill up space
by comparing animals and the weather.
And then I'll kill some time
drinking Mexican beer from Texas.
Everything feels fine.
I remember getting caught in the train.
I remember smoking cigarettes.
I don't remember getting drunk in Kentucky.
I remember winning money on a horse.
I was lucky.
So I'll fill up space
with stories from the past.
And then I'll kill some time
singing songs.
I wish that this summer would last.
Animais e o Tempo
Parece que tá mais quente aqui hoje,
mais quente do que ontem.
Acho que tá mais quente do que no dia anterior.
Mais quente do que amanhã.
Vou só ocupar espaço
fazendo comentários óbvios sobre o tempo.
Tô mais quente que um peru no forno,
mais quente que um morcego fervendo com uma bruxa,
mais quente que um peixe na areia do verão,
mais quente que um gato pegando fogo.
Vou só ocupar espaço

E então vou passar o tempo
bebendo cerveja mexicana do Texas.
Tudo tá tranquilo.
Lembro de ter ficado preso no trem.
Lembro de fumar cigarros.
Não lembro de ter ficado bêbado em Kentucky.
Lembro de ganhar grana em uma corrida de cavalo.
Tive sorte.
Então vou ocupar espaço
com histórias do passado.
E então vou passar o tempo
cantando músicas.
Queria que esse verão durasse.
