Pointing Fingers

When I was young, I thought
The world was against me
Like every person that I crossed
Was a possible enemy

I used to take for granted
All the ease around me
As if society owed me something
Ungrateful as can be

When the world struck me down
And I lost in my own game
Pointing fingers at those around
But I knew I was the one to blame

I felt like I was invincible
And immune to any doubt
Hurting people as a principle
Nothing to be meek about

The consequences now I face
Like I'm chained to my past
To the mistakes I can't erase
