Na maioria das vezes tarde da noiteMost times late at night
E eu ainda não descobri por que, mas eu sei exatamente por queAnd I haven't found out why, but I know exactly why
Estou nesta estrada, e ouço o cascalho debaixo de mim, e também o sintoI'm on this road, and I hear gravel underneath me, and I feel it too
E não sei onde estou, mas sei exatamente onde estouAnd I don't know where I am, but I know exactly where I am
Está escuro, está realmente escuroIt's dark, it's really dark
E o carro está quente, mas de alguma forma consigo sentir o quão fria a noite estáAnd the car is warm, but somehow I can feel how cold the night is
Não sei para onde a estrada leva, mas sei exatamente onde ela terminaI don't know where the road leads, but I know exactly where it ends
Você vê, continuo dirigindo, e tudo o que vejo por um longo tempo são meus faróisYou see, I keep driving, and all I see for the longest while is my headlights
Por uma eternidade, pareceFor an eternity it seems
E tudo é desolado e vazio e nada e sem esperançaAnd everything is desolate and empty and nothing and hopeless
Estou perdido, mas sei para onde estou indoI'm lost, but I know where I'm going
Estou seguro, estou quente, estou dirigindoI'm safe, I'm warm, I'm driving
E vejo essa pequena luzAnd I see this small light
Uma luz fraca que fica maior, mais brilhante, mais próxima e mais forteA dim one growing bigger and brighter and closer and stronger
E quanto mais me aproximo, mais vejoAnd the closer I get, the more I see
Distingo uma casa com luz espalhada por ela, um alpendre e carrosI make out a house with light strewn across it, a porch, and cars
Alguns para-brisas com gelo que não foram tocados por horasSome frosted windshields that hadn't been touched for hours
Ouço uma música, e está fracaI hear a song, and it's faint
E não consigo distinguir o nome, mas conheço cada palavraAnd I can't make out the name, but I know every word
Sinto meus pés primeiroI feel my feet first
E está frio, eles estão fazendo barulho, é o som das entradas de garagemAnd it's cold, and they're crunching, and it's the sound of driveways
E o vento leva minha respiração com eleAnd the wind takes my breath with it
Então eu chego a essa porta, e bato mesmo sentindo que não precisoAnd then I walk up to this door, and I knock even though I feel I don't have to

E essa fresta de luz se alarga neste alpendre debaixo de mim quando esta porta se abreAnd this crack of light widens on this porch underneath me as this door opens
E essa garota de cabelos castanhos com o sorriso mais brilhanteAnd this brown-haired girl with the brightest smile
Não sei quem ela é, mas a conheço tão bemI don't know who she is, but I know her so well
E atrás dela, o lar mais acolhedor que já viAnd behind her, the warmest home I'd ever seen
É laranja e confortável, há fogo, e está iluminado por lâmpadasIt's orange and comfortable, there's fire, and it's bulb-lit

E há pessoas, e elas estão felizes, e estão satisfeitas por um momentoAnd there's people, and they're happy, and they're content for one
Não sei quem são, mas sei exatamente quem sãoI don't know who they are, but I know exactly who they are
E todos estamos de pé, e estou rindo de uma piada que nunca mais ouvireiAnd we're all standing, and I'm laughing at a joke I'll never hear again
