The Root Of All Evils
There is great gain
In godliness with contentment;
For we brought nothing into this world
And we cannot take anything out the world;
But if we have food and clothing,
With these we shall be content.
But those who desire to be rich
Fall into temptation, into a snare.
Into many senseless and hurtful desires
That plunge men into ruin and destruction.
For the love of money
Is the root of all evils;
It is through this craving
That some have wandered away
From the faith And pierced their hearts
With many pangs.

Há grande ganho
Na piedade com contentamento;
Pois nada trouxemos a este mundo
E nada podemos levar deste mundo;
Mas se temos comida e roupa,
Com isso devemos nos contentar.
Mas aqueles que desejam ser ricos
Caem em tentação, em uma armadilha.
Em muitos desejos insensatos e dolorosos
Que afundam os homens em ruína e destruição.
Pois o amor ao dinheiro
É a raiz de todos os males;
É por meio desse desejo
Que alguns se desviaram
Da fé e atravessaram seus corações
Com muitas dores.
