In the land of Coca-Cola and electric chairs
Survivalist salesmen are selling their wares
A Martian invasion or a communist landing
Or have they both reached an understanding

It's a dog-eat-dog world, so do your best
Head for the hills and forget the rest
Forward thinkers, they're the lucky ones
They're all stocked up with food and guns

Mercury Theatre's on the air again

Loving thy neighbour doesn't count no more
You've got to be ready so know the score
Those who aren't prepared get left behind
It's what's known as being cruel to be kind

Mercury Theatre's on the air again

Time to forget your dreams of the past
It's only the realists who're gonna last
The voice coming through on the radio station
It's spreading the news all across the nation

Mercury theatre's on the air again

Mass hysteria in '38
Still the same in '83
It can happen again
Just wait and see

Mercury Theatre's on the air again
