Living In The Dark

And suddenly, everything goes dark
Day turns to night in seconds
Life flashes before your eyes
A replay of a lifetime in seconds
Dreams end, you wake up

What happened?
Where is the blue sky?
Where is the light that illuminated me?
Why? Who turned off the light?

I didn't have time to live
To see all the colors
To feel all the rain, the wind
I didn't share my best

I just tried to survive, to defend myself
From enemies, I didn't have
Dodging arrows that weren't even shot
As if I were running away from myself

Looking for a new shelter
Never a new friend
Without keeping the ones I had
I was anxious to live
I dismissed moments

I forgot feelings, laughter
Believing that I was defending myself
From the tragic and fast-paced world
That ran me over
Threw me to the ground

And me? Just trying to survive
Where I would be just another one
Another one who fell into the trap
That life could be better
Better than I could live
And so I lived
