Lost Girl

As she walked up the stairs
You just stood and you stared
As if you had just seen an angel
What you didn’t know was what you saw
Was the first mask that she wore
And you were blinded and deceived then

When she sat next to you
She said things that frightened you
And you believed she was a demon
She whispered things in your ear
Then told you what you wanted to hear
And you couldn’t help obey and believe her

But what you realised after all
Was she wasn’t as special as you thought
And now you know all that she is
She is just a puddle of tears

As you walked down the corridor
You looked back and you saw
What you knew to be a lost girl
You didn’t look back again
