Two shadows drifting from a border town
Tired of the rain always coming down
Got a hidden secret in a wooden chest
Under lock and key, putting fear to rest
Hopped a midnight train in the dead of night
Chasing the pulse for the morning light
Wheels on the track start to hum and crack
A sound so heavy, like a heart attack
It hit me hard, it went like this

Plug it in, let it out
Twist the dial, hear the city shout
I love the way that you charge the air
Static and gold, it's everywhere
See the lightning inside of my soul
High voltage heaven is taking control!

Sent a signal from the coastal pier
Living for the rush, no gravity here
Sold the story to the flashing screen
The wildest faces that you've ever seen
Now I'm an icon of the electric age
Turning the world to a massive stage
Living for millions, a digital dream
And every kid is jumping higher
Just to join the scene!

Catching the current
The current is calling now
Energy rising
The current is calling now
Watch the wires!
Feel the heat!

Plug it in, let it out
Twist the dial, hear the city shout
I love the way that you charge the air
Static and gold, it's everywhere
See the lightning inside of my soul
High voltage heaven is taking control!

High voltage sky!
High voltage sky!
