July In January

My worst fear is not the devil
it´s that i´m not what you want.
when i freak out you keep me level
you wear a smile when i cannot
it´s tough to see any potential in me.
but you´re sure to set me straight.
you make it seem like i´m essential to you
like i´m not just excess freight.

the winter has get so cold
i feel my organs freeze
you thaw me out
you make it july in january.

it sucks that i don´t have more money
cuz i´d take you to the mall
and buy you everything you want
we´d eat croissants with high priced honey
instead of chips beneath my bare apartment walls.

and just so you know

if anybody does you harm
i´ll do my best to break their arms.
and if anybody makes you cry
i´ll give them the world´s worst black eye.
and if i do something wrong
i´ll write you another one of these silly songs
and tell you that you´re pretty
