O livro das gerações de Jesus Cristo, filho de Davi, filho de Abraão.The book of the generations of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
2 O filho de Abraão foi Isaac; e o filho de Isaac foi Jacó; e os filhos de Jacó foram Judá e seus irmãos;2 The son of Abraham was Isaac; and the son of Isaac was Jacob; and the sons of Jacob were Judah and his brothers;
3 E os filhos de Judá foram Perez e Zera, com Tamar; e o filho de Perez foi Esrom; e o filho de Esrom foi Ram;3 And the sons of Judah were Perez and Zerah by Tamar; and the son of Perez was Hezron; and the son of Hezron was Ram;
4 E o filho de Ram foi Aminadabe; e o filho de Aminadabe foi Naassom; e o filho de Naassom foi Salmão;4 And the son of Ram was Amminadab; and the son of Amminadab was Nahshon; and the son of Nahshon was Salmon;
5 E o filho de Salmão, com Raabe, foi Boaz; e o filho de Boaz, com Rute, foi Obede; e o filho de Obede foi Jessé;5 And the son of Salmon by Rahab was Boaz; and the son of Boaz by Ruth was Obed; and the son of Obed was Jesse;
6 E o filho de Jessé foi Davi, o rei; e o filho de Davi foi Salomão, com aquela que tinha sido mulher de Urias;6 And the son of Jesse was David the king; and the son of David was Solomon by her who had been the wife of Uriah;

8 E o filho de Asa foi Josafá; e o filho de Josafá foi Jorão; e o filho de Jorão foi Uzias;8 And the son of Asa was Jehoshaphat; and the son of Jehoshaphat was Joram; and the son of Joram was Uzziah;
9 E o filho de Uzias foi Jotão; e o filho de Jotão foi Acaz; e o filho de Acaz foi Ezequias;9 And the son of Uzziah was Jotham; and the son of Jotham was Ahaz; and the son of Ahaz was Hezekiah;
10 E o filho de Ezequias foi Manassés; e o filho de Manassés foi Amom; e o filho de Amom foi Josias;10 And the son of Hezekiah was Manasseh; and the son of Manasseh was Amon; and the son of Amon was Josiah;
11 E os filhos de Josias foram Jeconias e seus irmãos, na época da deportação para a Babilônia.11 And the sons of Josiah were Jechoniah and his brothers, at the time of the taking away to Babylon.
12 E depois da deportação para a Babilônia, Jeconias teve um filho, Salatiel; e Salatiel teve Zorobabel;12 And after the taking away to Babylon, Jechoniah had a son Shealtiel; and Shealtiel had Zerubbabel;
13 E Zorobabel teve Abiud; e Abiud teve Eliakim; e Eliakim teve Azor;13 And Zerubbabel had Abiud; and Abiud had Eliakim; and Eliakim had Azor;
14 E Azor teve Zadoque; e Zadoque teve Aquim; e Aquim teve Eliúde;14 And Azor had Zadok; and Zadok had Achim; and Achim had Eliud;
15 E Eliúde teve Eleazar; e Eleazar teve Matã; e Matã teve Jacó;15 And Eliud had Eleazar; and Eleazar had Matthan; and Matthan had Jacob;
16 E o filho de Jacó foi José, marido de Maria, que deu à luz Jesus, cujo nome é Cristo.16 And the son of Jacob was Joseph the husband of Mary, who gave birth to Jesus, whose name is Christ.
17 Assim, todas as gerações de Abraão a Davi são quatorze gerações; e de Davi até a deportação para a Babilônia, quatorze gerações; e da deportação para a Babilônia até a vinda de Cristo, quatorze gerações.17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David to the taking away to Babylon, fourteen generations; and from the taking away to Babylon to the coming of Christ, fourteen generations.
18 Agora, o nascimento de Jesus Cristo foi assim: quando sua mãe Maria estava para se casar com José, antes de se juntarem, foi descoberto que ela estava grávida pelo Espírito Santo.18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was in this way: when his mother Mary was going to be married to Joseph, before they came together the discovery was made that she was with child by the Holy Spirit.
19 E José, seu marido, sendo um homem justo, e não desejando torná-la um exemplo público, pensou em deixá-la em segredo.19 And Joseph, her husband, being an upright man, and not desiring to make her a public example, had a mind to put her away privately.
20 Mas enquanto ele pensava nessas coisas, um anjo do Senhor apareceu a ele em sonho, dizendo: José, filho de Davi, não tenha medo de receber Maria como sua esposa; porque o que está nela é do Espírito Santo.20 But when he was giving thought to these things, an angel of the Lord came to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, son of David, have no fear of taking Mary as your wife; because that which is in her body is of the Holy Spirit.
21 E ela dará à luz um filho; e você dará a ele o nome de Jesus; pois ele salvará seu povo de seus pecados.21 And she will give birth to a son; and you will give him the name Jesus; for he will give his people salvation from their sins.
22 Agora, tudo isso aconteceu para que se cumprisse a palavra do Senhor por meio do profeta,22 Now all this took place so that the word of the Lord by the prophet might come true,
23 Veja, a virgem ficará grávida e dará à luz um filho, e eles darão a ele o nome de Emanuel, que significa Deus conosco.23 See, the virgin will be with child, and will give birth to a son, and they will give him the name Immanuel, that is, God with us.
24 E José fez como o anjo do Senhor lhe havia ordenado, e a tomou como sua esposa;24 And Joseph did as the angel of the Lord had said to him, and took her as his wife;
25 E ele não teve relações com ela até que ela tivesse dado à luz um filho; e ele deu a ele o nome de Jesus.25 And he had no connection with her till she had given birth to a son; and he gave him the name Jesus.
