E levantando os olhos, vi um homem com uma fita métrica na mão.And lifting up my eyes, I saw a man with a measuring-line in his hand.
E eu perguntei a ele, Para onde você vai? E ele me respondeu, Vou medir Jerusalém, pra ver quão larga e longa ela é.2 And I said to him, Where are you going? And he said to me, To take the measure of Jerusalem, to see how wide and how long it is.
E o anjo que falava comigo saiu, e outro anjo saiu, e, ao encontrá-lo,3 And the angel who was talking to me went out, and another angel went out, and, meeting him,
Disse a ele, Vá rápido e diga a esse jovem, Jerusalém será uma cidade sem muros, por causa do grande número de homens e gado que há nela.4 Said to him, Go quickly and say to this young man, Jerusalem will be an unwalled town, because of the great number of men and cattle in her.
Pois eu, diz o Senhor, serei um muro de fogo ao redor dela, e serei a glória dentro dela.5 For I, says the Lord, will be a wall of fire round about her, and I will be the glory inside her.
Ei, ei! fuja da terra do norte, diz o Senhor: pois eu te enviei longe, para os quatro ventos do céu, diz o Senhor.6 Ho, ho! go in flight from the land of the north, says the Lord: for I have sent you far and wide to the four winds of heaven, says the Lord.
Ei! Sião, fuja do perigo, você que vive com a filha da Babilônia.7 Ho! Zion, go in flight from danger, you who are living with the daughter of Babylon.
Pois isso é o que o Senhor dos exércitos disse: No caminho da glória ele me enviou às nações que tomaram seus bens: pois quem te toca está tocando no que é mais precioso para ele.8 For this is what the Lord of armies has said: In the way of glory he has sent me to the nations which have taken your goods: for anyone touching you is touching what is most dear to him.
Pois ao balançar minha mão sobre eles, seus bens serão tomados por aqueles que eram seus servos: e você verá que o Senhor dos exércitos me enviou.9 For at the shaking of my hand over them, their goods will be taken by those who were their servants: and you will see that the Lord of armies has sent me.
Dêem cânticos de alegria, ó filha de Sião: pois eu venho, e farei meu lugar de descanso entre vocês, diz o Senhor.10 Give songs of joy, O daughter of Zion: for I come, and I will make my resting-place among you, says the Lord.
E várias nações se unirão ao Senhor naquele dia, e se tornarão meu povo; e eu estarei vivendo entre vocês, e vocês verão que o Senhor dos exércitos me enviou a vocês.11 And a number of nations will be joined to the Lord in that day, and will become my people; and I will be living among you, and you will see that the Lord of armies has sent me to you.
E Judá será a herança do Senhor na terra santa, e Jerusalém será novamente dele.12 And Judah will be the Lord's heritage in the holy land, and Jerusalem will again be his.
Deixe toda carne ficar em silêncio e não fazer barulho diante do Senhor: pois ele está acordado e veio de seu lugar santo de descanso.13 Let all flesh be quiet and make no sound before the Lord: for he is awake and has come from his holy resting-place.
