Flying Towards The End

When the snow finally melted and the ground came to light
The mess of their feet was a terrible sight
Broken and ruined, just skin and cracked bone
But the man felt no pain

He stood there alone
His brain was all foggy, drugged up and slow
High on the meds with nowhere to go
Nobody thought, as they stood in the clay

Yeah, this was the last time they'd see the day

The war was a lie, a game they had lost
But they were tricked into paying the cost
They tried to talk, but the words wouldn't come
Their throats were too dry and their bodies were numb
A young boy yelled out, a scream in the night
I need more medicine to stay in this fight

Yeah, this was the last time they'd see the day
