The ballerina spins in a world of glass
Each twirl a whisper that time won't pass
Toes on the edge of a fading Sun
Her shadow dances but she's the only one

The white dove flies where the skies break wide
Wings of silence
No place to hide
The soldier watches with a heavy hand
Footsteps sinking in a broken land

A ribbon unties as her pirouette slows
Dust in the air
Where the moonlight glows
The dove circles
Its cry like a plea
The soldier kneels by the edge of the sea

The sky is crying
The earth won't heal
He carries a weight he cannot feel
