A Daisy For Mama

I was buying some flowers on a morning in may
When a small child came by
And this she did say can you spare me a little
That's all that i ask just a little
Is all that i need a little
Is all that i need well
I knelt down beside her and held out the flowers
And told her to chose any one
There were bright yellow roses
And sweet violets but a daisy is all
That she chose a daisy is all
That she chose.
When i asked her, her name and if she could explain
Why a daisy was all that she wanted the tears filled
Her eyes and she started to cry
She said a daisy reminds me of mama,

Mama said heaven has streets that are golden
And sweet angels singing dressed in white,
So you see this small daisy reminds me of mama
