E com seu corpo ele arou o caminho.And with her body he's harrowed the road.
Sua saia de seda em farrapos rasgou,Her silken skirt in tatters tore,
Sua blusa de seda foi respingada de sangue.Her silken blouse was spattered with blood.

"Cavaleiro mais devagar, devagar, Príncipe Pagão," ela diz"Ride slower, slower, Prince Heathen," she says

Ele encurtou as estribeiras e partiu veloz.He shortened stirrups and on he flew.
Ele a arrastou pelos espinhos e cardos.He's dragged her through the briar and thorns.
A jovem Margarida deu um grito de dor,Young Margaret gave a pitiful cry,
E ali ela teve seu bebê nascido.And there she's had her little babe born.

"Oh, como posso embrulhar meu doce bebê"Oh how can I wrap me sweet little babe
