It was in the silence of the room

It was in the silence of the room
That I felt your goodbye
The cup still on the table
And your scent drifting by

Time froze inside the frame
Of the photo where we smiled
But now it's just a picture
Without the soul it once compiled

I tried to find you in details
In music, in the smell of the sea
But every memory goes quiet
And I forget where I used to be

I lost you, without losing myself
I stayed here, like a verse with no end
I lost you, but your voice remains
Softly echoing deep within

It rained on the brightest Sunday
And the house cried for us both
The paintings, the books, the plans
Now belong to the almost

And time that used to run
Now only knows how to ache
Every corner of my poetry
Still insists on your face

I searched for your trail in the wind
In the hug that the world denied
But I lost you the moment
Love turned quiet inside

I lost you, without losing myself
I stayed here, like a verse with no end
I lost you, but your voice remains
Softly echoing deep within

If you ever return, I'm not sure I’m still
The one who once loved with such grace
But I hold your name in my chest
Like the last wave, I dare to embrace

I lost you, but I don't regret
It was true love, even unmet
I lost you and found a new way
For love never dies, it just moves away
