Credo in unum deum
Et in unum dominum
Athanasius contra mundum

Born in alexandria, fire in his veins
Rome on the throne but chaos remains
The serpent rose with a poisoned creed
Christ is not God, heresy decreed

At nicaea the battle was drawn
Truth versus lies, dusk against dawn
A deacon stood with thunderous voice
Homoousios, the church's choice

When bishops bent
He stood alone
Steel in his soul
Bone against bone

Defender of Christ, truth unbound

Five times exiled, never bent
Victory forged in torment

Emperor's wrath, arian blade
False councils rising, truth betrayed
They hunted his life, sent killers by night
God hid his warrior from murderous sight

Sailed down the nile, escaped by prayer
Vanished in deserts, vanished in air
Monks were his army, faith was his shield
In caves and tombs the gospel revealed

From throne to desert
From palace to dust
Still Christ was king
Still God he confessed

He died standing on truth's steel

Council of nicaea, three hundred bishops
One creed, one Christ

On the incarnation, the war cry
God became man so man could rise
He crushed arian lies with eternal light

Saint anthony's life he sent through time
Monastic fire, desert sublime
From east to west his words still roar
Doctrine armed forevermore

When rome was weak
He carried the flame
When truth was hunted
He spoke the name

Shepherd restored to alexandria's wall
After decades of war with hell

Now centuries pass, empires decay
But nicaea's creed still guards the way
