Doug wasn't even that nervous
When he finally got his gun
Just awfully self-conscious and kinda giddy
Like when he first started
Making out with girls
A classmate gave him a beeper number
Of a dealer in town
He said: Meet me in the parking lot
Behind McDonald's
Tuesday night, say around 8:00

He stared at the weapons
They said Power, Authority, Respect
All at entry level prices
With only $25
He quickly settled on a used Remington
Semi-automatic 12-guage shotgun
At 16, Doug was a force to be reckoned with

And that evening
Doug sneaked into his dad's garage
And got out his hacksaw
Transforming the gun
Into the weapon of choice
Among teenage toughs
A pistol grip, sawed off shotgun
Which he pronounces
Almost as easy as one word
