Fires In The Skyline

Ain't it funny how the story goes?
It's always some quest for glory or gold
All the same, there's millions laid to rest
Convinced to leave their homes and try their best
This tale always ends bad
When everything's done and said

Fires in the skyline, the war machine is here
Taking lots of innocent lives and bringing misery

In a small village there's a peaceful man
Who lives a quiet life in his homestead
One day he gets sent to fight till death
For reasons that he doesn't understand
His family is left there
Left to their own prayers

I hope there is a lesson to be learned
From all the senseless violence that's begun
That one day we can all become as one
And realize we're under the same Sun
