Monday morning when I went to work
There was a man that said to me: "You small-town Jerk!

A company must be paying concern"
Tuesday morning I was on the dole
The employment exchange was a big black hole:

Thursday, Friday and Saturday too
I was sitting in the pub until half past two:

Lazy Sunday I woke up in a park
There was a man that said: "Come see me after dark!

Monday morning when I went to work
Into a bank I stepped right up and said to the clerk:

Even a small-town jerk must be paying concern!"
