I'm Not Who I Was

Where were you?
Where were you?
Oh, oh

Where were you when I was 17?
You left me in pieces in between
Every word cut deeper than it seemed
You watched me bleed out quietly

I was young, I was so naïve
Gave you everything you'd ever need
You turned love into a disease
Left me scars I couldn't leave

But look at me now
I made it this far
Through everything

I'm not who I was when I was in love
You don't get to pull me under
I'm not who I was when I was with you
I don't feel you in my blood anymore

I'm not who I was when I gave you trust
You don't get to tear me open
I'm not who I was when I was with you
Now I'm everything you got in control
(Got in control)

Where were you when I was in my head
Spinning out, hanging by a thread?
Every night felt like I was dead
Talking to the silence in my bed

Where were you when I lost myself
Trying to be someone else?
You were never there to help
Just another version of my hell

But look at me now
I'm breaking the spell
You put on me

I'm not who I was when I was in love
You don't get to pull me under
I'm not who I was when I was with you
I don't feel you in my blood anymore

I'm not who I was when I gave you trust
You don't get to tear me open
I'm not who I was when I was with you
Now I'm everything you got in control

You said forever, then disappeared
Left me bleeding for another year
Now every shadow sounds like you
But I survived what you put me through

I'm not who I was when I was in love
You don't get to pull me under
I'm not who I was when I was with you
I don't feel you in my blood anymore

I'm not who I was when I gave you trust
You don't get to tear me open
I'm not who I was when I was with you
Now I'm everything you got in control
