The Mercury Lamp

I remember a brighter time
Like a candle behind the glass
But everyone dear will die by my hand
And soon they all sleep under the grass
It is so isolated and cold here in my world
Cobblestone streets littered with those whom I've lost
And I remain with my wings unfurled
Fending off the gathering frost

Every one of us is dressed to kill
With only one purpose to fulfill
Father, I am incomplete
There's a hole where my heart should be
If I play your twisted game of destruction
Will you come back and finish me?

My self-righteous sisters so perfect and true
They stand against me claiming that I am cruel
When the only thing I ever wanted was to see you
Therefore I must duel
We'll play each other off
Until there's only one left standing
