Of Radiance and Levitation

Light, it comes through a colorless prism
Cutting through tempest and hail
Disarming the hand raised against us
Giving us time to inhale

Contagion of all we hold dear
Slowly begins to erode
Fates long decided begin to shift
Restoring the debt that was owed

My sight taken from me
Carefully holding the sway
Venom entrenched in my veins
Gives way

Shades, they lash at the rays now upon us
In hopeless attempts to inflict
Merciless wounds that would maim us
With no claim left to collect

Wading ahead through the waters
Marching on towards my end
I suddenly lift from the earth below
A state I cannot comprehend

A light has shone, on the blackest moor
Where I've learned to see in the dark
A shocking pain for eyes that have only known
A world of shadows
How long would it take to adjust, how long until I can trust
A presence so foreign and a hope so absolute
My doubt chains me back to the earth
