Kiss Of Death

They say if you ever kissed a man
Your tongue would turn to ash
And you'd be banished from the land
But the creatures of the night
Would come out to dance
And the bat would leave his cave
And he'd take you by the hand

So
I went into the forest
And I laid down on the ground
And I called into the heavens
Till the blood-bird came down

And I kissed him
And the earth opened wide
And the creatures came to life
And the Moon began to cry
And the ocean sang
And the black sky cracked
And I kissed him back
And the blood-bird turned to ash

And the creatures of the night
Would be your closest friends
And the bat would leave his cave
And you'd be one of them

So
I went into the forest
