The Lay of the Land

Close to the ground with
Two inquisitive hands which
Knew the lay of the land
Would you conquer the mountain?
Would you wade in the stream?

All earnings and wisdom
Lift away on the wind and
Away from your kin
How could I be so blinded?
Am I dead on my feet?

If I keep a light load and
Just follow the road, then
Will I ever get home?
Will I reach the horizon?
Will you wait there for me?
