Jackal

In the darkness of the future past
Hear me walking over skulls and dust
I have come your quiescency to keep
Go to sleep

I'll make sure you're looked after and fed
Locked in your rooms, tucked in cozy beds
Customer's agreement signed but never read

Go to sleep
Go to sleep
Go to sleep
Go to sleep

Your mother sits on the edge of the world
Her legs dangling silly
She's drunk from it all
Dishes done, clothes washed
She's depressed
Thank God there's the content slop
To amuse herself to death
Your father's in the garage
He's preparing the rope
Completely forgotten the very meaning of hope
No drinkable water, just poison in the wells
This planet is 50% Huxley, 50% Orwell
No money, no future, no reason to fight
You're all going gently into this good night
Now if you're expecting some ironic twist
I'll remind you that you all voluntarily walked into this

Drip, drip, drip
Don't you weep
We're in too deep
Now go to sleep

It's done
No one's
To blame but you
