hot town hits the window, honestly,
his fourth flashing car, and proudly singing,

the urgency accurately,
imagine texas now, imagine spirit
choking, talking like a hair clip
clasped too tight, god loves the way
her skin is pulled so taught
around her eyelids
meanwhile, this woman's caught in
bed with the man who's not promised
to her, by the man who is,
the minister says,

in light of what's befalling
nothing is much better
than what is killing you, soundly.
it's got to be some
stranger, oh, impersoning*
stranger things we can't remember.
it's downright crazy!
