Shadows and Mercy

We start to wander down a broken road
Carrying the weight of a heavy load
The choices we make in the dark of the night
Can fade all the joy and can dim out the light
A shadow that grows when we drift far away
Leaving us lost at the end of the day

But there is a mercy that washes us clean
Greater than any mistake that we've seen

The illusions of worldliness promise us gold

To guide every step when we follow His way
Turning our darkness to glorious day

To find a salvation that's broken at last
The chains are undone by the power of grace
As we run to the light of His holy embrace
