Lazarus

I sent a message, Lord, come quick
The One You love is very sick
I waited by the open door
But every hour hurt a little more

His breathing slowly slipped away
I held his hand, I watched him fade
We laid him in the tomb that day
Then rolled the stone into its place

You healed the sick
You opened blind eyes
Lord, if You were here
Would he still be alive?

You shouted, Lazarus, come out
The silence broke, the crowd looked around
The stone was moved, the grave gave way
And death could not keep him that day
Nobody could believe their eyes
The man we buried came back alive
One word from You was all it took
And hope walked out of that tomb

Four days had passed, the tears remained
The house was filled with grief and pain
Then someone said: The Master's here
I ran to You through all my tears

Lord, if You'd come before this day
My brother would not die this way
You said: If you believe, you'll see
The glory of God today

You shouted, Lazarus, come out
