Job

In the courts of heaven, a question was raised
Have you considered my servant Job? Blameless, upright
But the accuser answered

Have you seen him? He fears You, but not for free
You gave him more he has, take it then we'll see
Stretch out your hand, strike all he owns
He'll curse your name before your throne

But you said all he has is in your hand
Just spare his life, that's my command
So the storm began to rise that day
And everything was swept away

Auction gone and the fire fell
Servants are lost, I heard the bell
Wind came crashing through the night
And took my children out of site

I tore my robe, fell to the ground
In the ashes no sound
But I said: Lord you still reign
Through the loss and through the pain

The Lord give, the Lord takes away
Still I will bless your Holy Name
Though I walk through fire and flame
You are God, you never change

Though he slay me, and I'll trust
Even when I turn to dust
I won't curse, I'll chose to stand
And bless your Holy Name

Now my skin is torn with pain
And boils like fire in my veins
Sitting in the ash and dust
Scraping soars, but still I trust

She said: Curse God and die tonight
But I answered through the fight
Shall we take the good alone
And not the trouble he has shown?

Why does the righteous fade away?

I plead my case before you heart
